JURA WHISKY

Locked down, not out

The tiny, whisky-making island of Jura is remote at the best of times. But in 2020, the island's community had little choice but to close its borders to everyone but the postman (Graeme).

With no chance of a crew getting in or out to shoot the year’s social content on-island, we took the chance to try out new things and have some fun - all to keep Jura connected to the world.

Whisky Walkabouts

With our audience stuck inside, we brought the island's outdoors to their Instagram stories - exploring alongside Jura's Brand Home Manager, Aussie Mark.

Tasting Stories

To sub in for the distillery tastings no one could get to, we created a playful interactive whisky tasting - designed to be joined from your Instagram stories.

The Jura Pub Quiz

Jura's one pub is the (only) place to be on a Friday night. So, each week the pub doors remained shut, we reserved a virtual seat in it for anyone who wanted to learn about the island's lively character.

Minute Mixology

While #quarantinis trended, we taught Jura fans to be their own bartender - with all the fizz and atmosphere we were missing so much.

Father's Day Cocktail

While many in our audience welcomed a mixed drink, there were just as many purists who hated to see them served up in their social feed. The highest proportion of this group? Men of a certain (fathering) age.

So for Father's Day, we axed the mixers, straws and tiny umbrellas to acknowledge that - for many Dads - the cocktail of choice is anything but.
